Willie Daniels is a United Airlines Flight Officer based in Washington Dulles flying the Boeing 777 as a United Airlines Captain with over 22,000 hours of flying.  His profession allowed him to see the need to encourage children at a young age to pursue careers in aviation and aerospace.  With the help of others he formed SHADES OF BLUE an Aviation and Aerospace Foundation in hopes of reaching the youth of America and inspiring them to pursue careers in the fields Science, Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). Before becoming a flight officer he served as a flight attendant for United Airlines for eight years where he did several special assignments as a United Employee.  He also earned his Certified Flight Instructor Certificate as well.  During this time he continued to acquire flight hours to one day fulfill his goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot. Daniels earned a BS as a professional pilot and a minor in business management from Metro State College in Denver, Colorado.  He earned both an AA and an AS degree from Mt. San Antonio Community College in the City of Walnut, California.   Daniels has received many commendations.  In 1989 the City of Pomona gave him a Proclamation honoring his achievements.  In 1994 he received the Republican Senatorial Medal of Freedom.  In 1995 the Ronald Wilson Regan Eternal Flame of Freedom was given to him for his diligent support to the Party.  In 1996 he was nominated as a member of the Republican Senatorial Inner Circle Commission.  In 1998 he received the Republican Majority Medal for taking an active role in changing the face and future of American politics.  In 2000 he received a board appointment to the Colorado Council on the Arts by Governor Bill Owens. In 2003 he received the prestigious Ed Dwight Jr Award from the SOBI Board for developing the SHADES OF BLUE Organization.   ET3 TEC Champion Award presented through Congressional Education Technology Think Tank Washington DC, September 2005.  He was also awarded the SECME Summer Institute award in July 2006, the United Airlines 2006 Community Service Award, the United Airlines 2012 Volunteer Impact Grant Award, and the 2013 Pearl of Africa Award for Aviation Science, Education, and Leadership at the 2013 International Education, Business, Technology, and Investment Conference, Chicago IL.  Daniels was born in Kansas City and raised from the age of two in southern California.  He now lives in Castle Pines, Colorado with his wife, Perezza and two daughters, Danielle and Dana.
